Transit time

In order to provide a high level of competitiveness of the Transsiberian Mainline with regard to the deep sea route new schedules for high speed container block trains running on the Transsiberian Mainline, tied in with the quarterly schedules of vessels operating on the sea leg between ports of Japan and South Korea and port Vostochni of Russia have been developed. According to the schedule the container block trains are dispatched from the station of Nahodka-Vostochnaya on the next day after the port call of the vessel and of unloading of containers at port Vostochny.

For the purpose to speed up the handling of transit containers at ports and at the boarder stations a simplified procedure of customs declaration of transit cargo in containers has been introduced at port Vostochny. An additional copy of the railway way bill is considered as a customs declaration. It is not mandatory to present the invoice nor it is necessary to point out in the transportation documents the cost of the cargo. However, a detailed description of the cargo is needed so that cargo can be identified for customs purposes.
At the proposal of the Ministry of Railway Transport, the State Customs Committee has applied the simplified procedure of customs declaration and control of transit cargoes, carried in containers via Transsiberian Mainline to other border station of Russia as well.
