International Conference 'St Petersburg: the sea capital of Russia.Transport and transit potential'  
On the 9th and 10th of September 2010 the III International conference “Transport and transit potential” will be held in Saint Petersburg within the framework of the "United Russia" Party project “St. Petersburg — the sea capital of Russia”.
The event targets such crucial issues in fulfilling the transport and transit potential of the country as new realities of the Customs Union, international cooperation in cargo shipping and forwarding, creation of new logistics models, modernization of infrastructure of key transport corridors and hubs.
Plenary sessions of the conference will provide a deeper insight into the current state of the transport and logistics sector of the Russian economy, federal target programmes functioning in this area, government-business cooperation and creation of self-regulating transport organizations.
More than 400 delegates are expected to attend the conference. These are the representatives of 35 regions of Russia including the governors of Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan and Murmansk oblasts and Permskiy krai, heads of a number of Federal Services (Tariff, Antimonopoly, Customs), heads of respective State Duma Committees, ministers and deputy ministers of the Ministry of Transport of the RF, Ministry of Regional Development of the RF and Ministry for Economic Development of the RF. Foreign countries are represented by ambassadors and consuls general.
Decisions made at the conference will be drawn into a draft resolution to be submitted to the respective ministries and agencies in order to improve legislation in transport, logistics, shipping and forwarding area.
